There are some things I’ll never understand.

Why is it that in some cultures, it is valued to have meat on your bones? Why is it that in the gluttony was a sign of wealth? There are so many pictures from the 1800s with women being a normal healthy weight. How did it come to happen that in the eyes of society today, a size zero is prefect and “healthy”? If not healthy, then at least you look good and people treat you right. How did time evolve to where if you had curves, you were absolutely gorgeous or just normal, to overweight or unhealthy? It is ridiculous how as we evolve, we get worse and make people worry more and more about themselves. I just don’t like the fact that some people have to be scared to eat something. Yeah, I understand if you are obese, you have worries. I just don’t think everyone should feel inferior if they don’t look like celebrities.

It’s never enough.

Out of all the many things that may change with time, you know what stays the same? The sun. I can always count on it coming out everyday, and leaving me at night. The sun makes me happy. Now I know the sun may not be “exactly” the same as it was when earth was first created, but its routine has never changed or let up. One way or another, there is always light during the day. The moon still comes when it is nighttime. The sun and moon never cease to fail me. yeah, sometimes it is not as sunny as I would like, but when it does, I am twice as happy as happy as normal. Does the sunshine give out a ray of happiness as well as UV rays? The sun and moon are always something I can count on.

It’s coming

Have you ever seen the movie Grease? You know that part where school is finally out and everyone is running? Doesn’t that look amazing? In most movies dealing with high school, that is what you see. We see the students drag through the whole school year, until that last day comes. Every scene has kids running, screaming, and the ever present “throwing papers in the air” scene. No matter how much time goes on, that scene is always in a movie. Grease, Hocus Pocus, etc. I personally have never seen that happen at any of my schools, but it would definitely be something to try before I graduate from school completely. Does college allow this? Regardless the decade, time, era, the relief and feeling from leaving school never ceases to exist. We will always have the “throwing papers in the air” scene.

They won’t be the same.

What are promises? What is your word? Do you think that if I gave someone my word that they would believe me? No, because no one else does. Do you think that if society held promises to a higher standard that we would too? A mans word is all he has, and now that seems to be held to such a lower standard as before. That is how men made deals to prosper. How did people deal with their feelings before? I have heard that in the past, feelings were something kept secret. Some societies to this day do not teach children to share how you feel, keep them all in. I am sure back then that people did not have psychiatrists to talk to, or go to their parents. I just think that honor has definitely gone downhill lately in the past. Things aren’t the same, and they won’t ever go back.
